American chef’s Union Street Café opens its doors with 10,000 covers booked!
Well, he’s done it again! Yet another eatery by American culinary giant Gordon Ramsay went on to become an immense hit with food aficionados;and that too before its launch! Union Street Café, the latest restaurant and bar from the Gordon Ramsay Group, received over 10,887 bookings ahead of its official launch in London, on September 16. What’s more, the restaurant is already booked till Christmas!
Gordon, who was inducted into the Culinary Hall of Fame in January this year, has opened the Italian-inspired resto bar on his favorite food spot in London – Borough Market. Exactly located in Southwark on the corner of Union Street and Great Suffolk Street, the food borough’s underlining feature is its daily changing menu, prepared in an open theatre style kitchen. With a focus on seasonality and artisan produce cooked in a Mediterranean style, the remainder of the ingredients will come from across the UK.
Union Street Café is, indeed, a cut above the regular Italian eateries in London. All thanks to the Head Chef, Italian born Davide Degiovanni’s palpable love for the produce, the tastefully set American urban warehouse design, and the restaurant’s discrete NYC vibe.
All in all, this is a place worth trying the next time you are in London, for a relaxed dining experience.
