Let us talk about the restaurant located in a sleepy by lane of Kolkata – Codfather.

As the name suggests, the specialties of this place are the dished that are prepared with fish, basically the cod fish.

Ambience that brings about the action

The guests can peek inside the kitchen and see their food getting prepared through the glass window, which adds onto its cool quotient. It has a randomized set-up with yellow and electric blue chairs, wooden tables, glass hookahs and fish shoals on the walls. It has a day’s special section wherein the dish of the day is written in a classical way on a blackboard with a chalk. As far as the view from the restaurant is concerned, it lacks on this part.

High on flavors

Fish dishes top the extravagant menu of Codfather, the most favorite being the fluffy fish chips, which have an irresistible effect over the diners and makes them crave for more. The other dishes include jacket potato with cheese, fish pate, baked aubergine, farmhouse chicken pie, Codfather special soup and aioli prawn. Although the dishes are high on the authentic flavors, the soups are mainly high on cornflour content with a few vegetables. The chicken pie is the comfort dish with a peppery flavor and mashed potatoes along with. All in all, in a rating of 1-5, Codfather gets a 2.5 on this list.


The staff is very helpful and caters to the needs of the diners and assures that quality service is being provided. The prices here pinch pockets, but the diners do not regret paying so much, owing to the service quality.
